Experience Through Their Eyes

Fantastic gem in the middle of Vermont pomp. Food is fantastic, servers are great, but get there early if you're going on the weekend: the place gets packed, quick. Food is scratch made, so it takes a little longer than a normal wait, but worth every bit. Servers: The very first time my wife and I walked in, they were closing up. One of the servers told us "we aren't cooking anymore, but if you want a drink and a cold sandwich, we can take care of that". Who offers that, just as they're closing?!?! So, we got a beer, and sandwiches to-go. All in all, a hidden gem in Springfield, and absolutely one of our favorite spots to hit. And yes, every time we visit the area, we make sure to stop in.

Great little establishment in the heart of Springfield. Little difficult to find down a set of stairs just past the theater. Good mix of American bar food and Tex-Mex options. Take out only for now.

You don't walk into Sheri's. You descend into it--like you're chasing a rumor, or maybe running from one. Tucked beneath the center of Springfield, Vermont, past a brick facade that whispers "nothing to see here," is a staircase that leads not just underground, but into some kind of culinary fever dream. Half deli, half cantina, all charm. It's the kind of place that feels like a secret--and not the bad kind. The kind you want to keep to yourself, but can't shut up about. Inside, it's not flashy. No faux-rustic Instagram bait. Just quiet tables, warm lighting, and a menu that reads like two cousins from opposite ends of the continent finally decided to open a restaurant together. One brought the sandwiches. The other brought the salsa. Nobody argued. Somehow, it works. The prices made me do a double take. I checked the wall for a calendar, wondering if I'd time-traveled to 1988. It's the kind of menu that makes you consider buying dinner for the entire room, just because you can. You'll spend more filling your tank than feeding your soul here. I went for the chicken sandwich, mostly out of instinct--and maybe divine intervention. It came out hot, crispy-edged, and unapologetically great. Moist without being sloppy. Balanced like a good story. The kind of sandwich that makes you nod quietly to yourself like, yeah, they get it here. The fries? Golden, blisteringly hot, freshly cut. No nonsense. Just respect. And then, to twist the plot a little, a margarita. Because why not? And suddenly I'm not in Vermont anymore. I'm in Cozumel. There's a breeze. A sombrero. Maybe a mariachi band in the distance. The margarita's that good. Whoever's behind the bar isn't phoning it in--they're dialing straight into the soul. The vibe? Calm. Comfortable. The kind of quiet that lets you think, or stop thinking altogether. And the staff? So friendly I half-considered handing over my social security number and asking them to watch my dog. Real people, doing honest work, and doing it really well. Sheri's is hidden like something you are hiding--which makes it all the better when you find it. It's a place you want to claim as your own. A little sanctuary of flavor, tucked under the bricks of a Vermont town most people pass by without a second thought. But not you. You went underground. And you came back up a little better.

We moved to Springfield over 6 months ago and I'm kicking myself for waiting this long to try Sheri's! The atmosphere is great. Food was delicious. We have a toddler and they were amazing with him. It wasn't super busy while we were there, but when I say we had amazing service, I mean we were checked on by every server in the place and everyone was so nice! Food came out quickly which is always much appreciated with a kiddo. And the price was incredibly reasonable - for two adults and a child, our check was less expensive than what we paid for a meal at Panera last week...and I even had a beer! Definitely recommend to anyone looking for a cozy spot for dinner in Springfield!

I live a hundred yards up the street since February, and walked by the sign everyday thinking for some reason it was a hair salon.Yesterday I walked by again and saw someone walking out with a to go container.the minute I got home I googled Sheri's place and read the menu, but more importantly ,they served adult beverages. Something that the town of Springfield is sorely lacking.I got excited ,and decided I would visit the next day.today I got diagnosed with thyroid cancer.Undetered,I went to sheris, and when I opened the door I immediately felt home.Nursed a cider, ordered wings and deep fried pickles.so comforting.Met shirly, robin, lily, and sheri.in what should have been a devastating moment in my life, was casual and happy.I cannot say enough praise to Sheri's and the staff.and the food is awsome as well!!!!!
